Have you considered that God can use your illness for good?
The apostle Paul says, “All things work together for good.” (Romans 8:28) This is a message of hope in my daily life and in the psychiatry clinical setting. Does that include mental illnesses? It appears to work out that way with many of my patients. Their mental illness does have a silver lining, and something good comes about from their illness. I see this every day in my practice, whether it is in a patient with depression, psychosis, addiction, or anxiety.
I would like to dedicate the book to my patients, who have taught me about the unwavering human spirit in spite of difficult odds, including the struggles of mental illness.
I also dedicate this book to our son Adam.
